Debra
Dinnocenzo
is president of VirtualWorks!, a provider of learning
resources for people in the virtual workplace. VirtualWorks!
specializes in telework, virtual teams, and work-life balance and
helps people lead more balanced lives.
A seasoned senior executive with more than two decades of corporate
and academic experience, Debra has an extensive background in sales
and marketing. She has held executive positions with Development Dimensions
International (DDI), Ridge Associates and Learning International,
a division of Times Mirror.
Debra is a nationally recognized expert in the field
of telework and a frequent speaker at national conferences on virtual
workplace and work-life balance issues. She is often quoted in the
media and is widely published on virtual work strategies and techniques.
Debra is the author of “101
Tips for Telecommuters” and co-author of “Dot
Calm: The Search for Sanity in a Wired World.”
An active member of her community, Debra lives near
Pittsburgh, PA and is involved in numerous community service organizations.
Additionally, she serves on the board of directors of the national
AAA; is vice chairman of East Central AAA (American Automobile Association);
serves on the board of trustees of University of Pittsburgh Medical
Center Passavant Hospital; and is a member of the board of directors
of the Passavant Hospital Foundation. Debra has served as an instructor
in the special studies program at Chautauqua Institution and holds
an adjunct faculty position with Duquesne University where teaches
an online graduate course, “Leadership in the Virtual Workplace.”
A graduate
of Central Michigan University, Debra holds Bachelor of Science
and Masters of Arts degrees in Management

Rick
Swegan is co-author of "Dot
Calm: The Search for Sanity in a Wired World," and a non-active
partner in VirtualWorks!. He serves as Vice President
of Client Services Consulting for Right Management Consultants. Previously
Rick served as a global account manager for DDI, where he managed
the firm's relationship with its largest global client. He is DDI's
career sales revenue leader and was awarded top sales honors for nine
consecutive years. Prior to his tenure at DDI, Rick was vice president
of human resources for a fast food chain and held administrative positions
at several colleges and universities. He received his B.A. from The
College of Wooster and a M.Ed. from Ohio University.

Rick
and Debra work from their home office in Wexford, Pennsylvania,
where they have seven phone lines, a home computer network, wonderful
views of the forest, and frequent visits by flocks of wild turkey
and herds of whitetail deer. They enjoy life together with their
daughter, Jennimarie, and their cat, Vincent.
